How Does It Work ?
DFW Pest Control gives you the best of all the available treatments CUSTOMIZED to your homes exact needs. DFW Pest Control kills termites and protects your home in 2 ways. First, using Termidor, we kill termites on contact. This protects your home from termite damages over and above what has already occurred. Second, we install termite locators around the outside of your home to establish a feeding connection with the colony. When termites are detected in the termite locators, a slow acting material is placed into it that kills off the worker termite population. This ensures that the termite colony is dealt with along with the chemical barrier protection of your home. 2 ways of killing termites and protecting your home, not just 1.
Here is how it works:
INSIDE
Your DFW Pest Control certified professional technician will treat interior plumbing areas using our special WallFoam TM treatment to place Termidor into the walls where termites infest. This liquid WallFoam TM treatment slowly absorbs into termite shelter tubes and the wood inside your walls and kills termites on contact. We also treat bathtub traps, shower stalls and other indoor conducive areas to prevent and kill termites. This interior WallFoam TM treatment will kill and prevent termites indoors in treated areas for years. It has no odor and is safe for the occupants of the buildings once dried.
OUTSIDE
We kill the actively foraging termites using Termidor. 6 inch deep trenches are dug along the exterior walls where termites are actively foraging and injected with Termidor until absorbed into the soil - then we cover them up. That way a Termidor barrier is in place that kills and prevents termite attack for years. Termite Shelter tubes, earth wood contact, etc. are all treated to kill termites and protect treated areas for years. Again, no odor and no worry for people or pets. Our termiticide products are EPA registered and meet tough federal standards.
After we treat your home using Termidor, we install (optional) termite locators around the outside of your home. These special termite locators are placed around the home and are designed to locate and encourage termite foragers to feed. The termite locators are inspected after 30 days and then every 90 days. When termites are found actively feeding inside the termite locator, Advance Termite Baits are placed into it. The worker termites are killed in less than 90 days ! Compare that to termite bait products that take 2 or more years !
Once termites are eliminated from your home, DFW Pest Control recommends quarterly inspections of the termite locators and an annual inspection of your home to make sure that termites have not returned. How Is The 5 Star Treatment Plan Different From Bait Only Systems Such As Sentricon ?
First, there are no Universities that recommend using a termite bait system without first using chemicals to kill existing termites. According to Jim Wright, North Carolina Agriculture Commissioner, "termite baits by themselves do not work".
Second, termite baits are not fed to the queens and kings of the termite colony. Anti-molting agents have no effect on mature termites since they do not have to molt. (Texas A&M)
Termite bait only systems (standalone systems) require that the termites find and feed on the termite bait stations. This takes an average of 8 -12 months. The termites then have to ingest as much as 128 grams of anti-molting agent which can take another year or two. Once the immature worker termites have ingested enough anti-molting agent, the immature worker termite population slowly dies off. However - the mature worker termite population still remains. The mature worker termite population has to die of old age and the reproductive termites have to deplete all of the internal food sources before the colony is eliminated. The entire process can take up to 6 years or longer if ever, according to Dr. Roger Gold of Texas A&M University.
